Marvel Studios is continuing to draw talent from the cast of HBO’s hit fantasy epic, Game of Thrones, with Finn Jones officially confirmed to reprise his role as Danny Rand, also known as Iron Fist, in Daredevil: Born Again Season 3.
This confirmation, announced at NYCC 2026, marks Jones as the ninth actor from the Westeros universe to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The new season, expected to debut in 2027, will see a significant reunion for fans.
Defenders Reunite as Iron Fist Returns
Finn Jones, known to Game of Thrones viewers as Ser Loras Tyrell, the Knight of Flowers, will be joining fellow Defenders stars Charlie Cox (Daredevil) and Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) in the upcoming season. Mike Colter is also confirmed to return as Luke Cage, completing the quartet and marking their first official reunion in approximately a decade, according to Collider.
While Jones previously starred in Netflix’s Iron Fist, his return in Daredevil: Born Again represents his first project directly under Marvel Studios. Speaking at NYCC 2026, Jones described his return after nearly 10 years as a “wonderful gift,” expressing his excitement to portray a “more evolved, grownup version” of Danny Rand, as reported by IGN Southeast Asia. He also acknowledged the initial reception of his character, stating he aims to present a “much more grounded, wiser, and powerful” Iron Fist this time.
Despite the news that Daredevil: Born Again will conclude with Season 3, Jones is hopeful for the future. He suggested that the series’ ending could pave the way for a new show featuring all the reunited Netflix-era characters, specifically pitching a “Heroes for Hire” series.
